Breaking own World Record twice in a Day

Today was a record day in Beijing Paralympics. Ireland's sprinter Jason Smyth broke the 100m Paralympic World Record twice in one day. He set a new world record by completing 100m (T13 Vision Impaired category) in 10.62 seconds. This record time broke his own world record of 10.81 seconds, that he had created in the qualifying run, earlier this morning.

After breaking his own record Smyth said: "To break my own world record twice in one day I knew it was there; it was just a matter of coming out and doing it on the big occassion."

That was really a great achievement for an athlete. We all must congrats Smyth for his record breaking feat in the ongoing 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
