Flying with Jet-powered Wings

On May 14, Yves Rossy, a Swiss pilot, inventor and aviation enthusiast, jumped from a Pilatus Porter at 7,500 feet with a jet engine-powered wing strapped to his back. During this successful 6-minute flight above the Swiss Alps, he accelerated to 186 miles per hour and rose as much as 2,600 feet. It was the first public demonstration of jet engine powered wings, before the world's press. Take a look at the images.
